Introducing the Home and Heart Company Uniqueness Scale

Finding treasures

Almost all of us have enjoyed time shopping online or at a cool store. Sometimes you may come across an interesting item and wonder how rare that item is. If you are online, you might search more for other items close to the one you have found. If you are out-and-about, you may delay your purchase because you don’t want to carry it around with you or you are about to go to lunch. But what if that interesting item is very rare, or even unique?

How do you know?

Should you buy it now? (Hint: Of course! Have a great lunch, we’ll hold it for you!)

To help you understand more about our products, we are introducing something rare itself: A product uniqueness scale.

It’s simple. We carry great rare, and unique, items that we love. We want you to love them, too. And we want you to know that the piece you are ordering online or taking home will be something to treasure for all of its qualities, including how rare it is.

Home and Heart Uniqueness scale

Home and Heart Company logoOnly Here: This item is available only from the Home and Heart Company. Our artisans have made it for us and only us. This item may be part of a limited series or is one of a kind.

Home and Heart Company globe logoFar And Wide: This item is extremely rare. You may be able to find an exact copy of this item through a diligent and lengthy search. We have found few if any copies. If you do find an exact copy of this item, let us know ... we may want to buy it!

Home and Heart Company clover logoGood Luck: This item is more common than most we carry. You may be able to find this exact item elsewhere, but as we carry mostly unusual items, it may be difficult to find.

As of this writing, we aren’t sure any of our growing product line is, in fact, unique. We have antique oriental doors, vintage Paraguayan nanduti lace tablecloths and vintage bedspreads. So we are almost positive these items are unique. But we aren’t sure. They were not made by us or at our direction. So they will scale at Far and Wide .... really, really rare.

In the coming weeks, we will retrofit our product descriptions to include our scale.

If we declare items to be unrated, they are just great, great items that are common enough to be found elsewhere. But the reason we have them is that Christine and Stefan thought the item was a great addition to our shop ... ask them why!

You could pass these items up now but why not buy them today from us?  Then you’ll have it to enjoy!

Let us know if you have any questions!

Our orange-and-white lace nanduti (Paraguayan) tablecloth has a tremendous amount of orange lacework that would shout to be heard at any summer gathering. The intricate details and dramatic orange lace edging can't help but be noticed. For more information and more images of this great vintage tablecloth, see it's product page here.

We're open!

Hello from the Home and Heart Company. Welcome to our site!

We wanted to begin by showcasing some of our pieces as we work hard to add more items to this shop. One first highlight is our pair of antique oriental doors. The doors would be fantastic pieces of art leading into a home, foyer or even a garden. Take a look at them here. In the next few days, we will publish more photos so you can see how great they are.

We are also debuting our collection of vintage Paraguayan lace tablecloths. The "nanduti" we carry were imported from Paraguay 30 years ago. Many of the tablecloths come with napkins and/or placemats. Each of these handmade pieces are unique, so size, color and accessories vary. Take a look here.

In the next few weeks, we will put many more lace tablecloths on display as well some jewelry. Find out more about how we select our  pieces here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stefan,
