How rare or unique are the Home and Heart Company products we sell?

Almost all of us have enjoyed time shopping online or at a cool store. Sometimes you may come across an interesting item and wonder how rare that item is. If you are online, you might search more for other items close to the one you have found. If you are out-and-about, you may delay your purchase because you don’t want to carry it around with you or you are about to go to lunch.

Finding treasures

But what if that interesting item is very rare, or even unique?

How do you know?

Should you buy it now? (Hint: Of course! Have a great lunch, we’ll hold it for you!)

To help you understand more about our products, we are introducing something rare itself: A product uniqueness scale.

It’s simple. We carry great rare, and unique, items that we love. We want you to love them, too. And we want you to know that the piece you are ordering online or taking home will be something to treasure for all of its qualities, including how rare it is.

Home and Heart Uniqueness scale

Only Here: This item is available only from the Home and Heart Company. Our artisans have made it for us and only us. This item may be part of a limited series or is one of a kind.

Far And Wide: This item is extremely rare. You may be able to find an exact copy of this item through a diligent and lengthy search. We have found few if any copies. If you do find an exact copy of this item, let us know ... we may want to buy it!

Good Luck: This item is more common than most we carry. You may be able to find this exact item elsewhere, but as we carry mostly unusual items, it may be difficult to find.

As of this writing, we aren’t sure any of our growing product line is, in fact, unique. We have antique oriental doors, vintage Paraguayan nanduti lace tablecloths and vintage bedspreads. So we are almost positive these items are unique. But we aren’t sure. They were not made by us or at our direction. So they will scale at Far and Wide .... really, really rare.

In the coming weeks, we will retrofit our product descriptions to include our scale.

If we declare items to be unrated, they are just great, great items that are common enough to be found elsewhere. But the reason we have them is that Christine and Stefan thought the item was a great addition to our shop ... ask them why!

You could pass these items up now but why not buy them today from us? Then you’ll have it to enjoy!

Find us every weekend at College of the Desert Street Fair

As we approach the holidays, we just wanted to let you know that we will be out at the College of the Desert Street Fair in Palm Desert every weekend until spring. So, check out everything you see online here and stop by and see us.

We've added more bedspreads, jewelry and other vintage home goods that haven't made it on the website yet, so come get first crack at our latest finds! We've also added holiday ornaments, cards and 2013 calendars.

Remember, many of our vintage products are one of a kind, so if you really like something you want to give to your mom or best friend, make sure to grab it so you don't miss out! If you or that person doesn't absolutely love anything you buy from us, just return it for a complete refund now through Jan. 31.

So if you are in the Palm Springs area or are passing through, give us and the 200+ merchants at the Street Fair a look-see, there are some really cool products.

Come say hello to us at the COD Street Fair

Hello again everyone,

We just wanted to update you on our College of the Desert Street Fair appearances. We'll be there every Saturday and Sunday for the rest of October. The fair has a great variety of products for almost everyone and is open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. every weekend day.

We are located in booth #228 in Row A. We'll have much of what you can see here on our site, but we are also bringing in more bedspreads, jewelry and lace tablecloths that we just received, so they haven't made it online yet. These items will begin appearing online next week.

So enjoy the weather and take a stroll through the COD Street Fair ... and introduce yourself!
